2026 : Tribute Year Robertine Devooght

Book "Robertine"

In April, Brugarto, the publishing house, will release the biographical novel "Robertine," written by her granddaughter Eline Devooght. This enchanting book reveals the story of the painting career and remarkable life of the Bruges artist Robertine Devooght (1904-1979). She was once called Bruges' Edith Piaf because, besides her art, her life also involved profound tragedy.

The book is a smooth read and a beautiful historical document that accurately captures the atmosphere of that time. It also includes a selection of her most beautiful and meaningful paintings in color. A must-have for every reader and art lover. The book costs €25 and is available at Bruges bookstores, or a signed copy can be requested by email.

Expo "Robertine"

Forty-six years after the last exhibition of Robertine Devooght's work, there's another opportunity to admire her artworks in April during a free exhibition. It will take place at the Modulair pop-up space, Academiestraat 14 in Bruges. The exhibition is open daily except Wednesdays, from April 2nd to 28th (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM).

Simultaneously, there will be an exhibition on the Bruges School, organized by Brugarto, and numerous Bruges masterpieces will be on display. Finally, it will be possible to purchase a signed book from Eline Devooght.
